XCR EXCELLENT ERGONOMICS

The XCR™ was designed after many interviews with soldiers wanting a rifle with better ergonomics.  Here's what we did and why:

Charging Handle
The charging handle is placed on the left side of the upper receiver a good distance from the top (12 O'clock) 1913 Standard Rail.  This is the best position because it allows the operator to charge the weapon while keeping the target within his sights.

Bolt Catch
The bolt catch is ambidextrous and is in easy reach of the index finger of the hand holding the pistol grip of the firearm.  After the last shot of a magazine is fired, the operator may change magazines, and close the bolt on a new round all without removing his eyes from the target.

Pistol Grip
The pistol grip is identical to that of the M16/M4 Carbine.  This grip has an optimal angle for holding the rifle.  Because the grip is removable, the operator can select the grip of his choice.

Buttstock
The Buttstock of the M4 Carbine is too wide. This forces the operator to rotate (angle) his head substantially in order to see through the sights.  The XCR does not contain the recoil mechanism in the stock.  Therefore, the buttstock can be much narrower.  With a narrower buttstock, the operator can take the rifle from the low ready position to the ready position looking directly through the sights without rotating his head.   This is a BIG DEAL - First guy on target wins!!!  This is the reason we are not pushing the M4 stocks on the XCR.  (P.S.  We have developed an M4 stock adapter anyway for those who simply cannot live without the M4 stock.)

Balance
The excellent balance of the XCR™ combined with very low recoil make the XCR™ a pleasure to shoot and ensure multiple hits on target.
