Accuracy Shift with Barrel Change Everyone loves our quick change barrel system. Some have asked how does barrel change effect the point of impact? In other words, if one removes the barrel and then re-installs it, what is the change in point of impact at 100 yards? From previous testing, we knew there was little change. But we thought you'd like to see it for yourself. So, we randomly took a barrel off the production line and tested it. Twenty rounds was fired through the barrel just to break it in a little and to get it roughly zeroed. Then the following two groups were fired through an XCR with a Trijicon 4X ACOG optic. The cross hairs just about cover the orange square. The first five shot group measured just about 1" and was just low and right of center.
After the first group was fired, the barrel was removed and then reinstalled. The same box of ammunition was used.
This group is also 1" and is also slightly low and right of center. This target was the top right hand target on the 5 target sheet. The first group was lower right target on the same sheet. The very small difference (which is hard to even measure) could simply have resulting in the different sighting angle. Just for kicks, we took the barrel out and replaced it with a completely different new barrel which had been taken off the production line. We used ammo from the same box.
The shift in impact can be seen but is small. We cannot guaranty that shifting from one completely different barrel to another will result in so small a change. It will, however, be relatively small.

The Barrel was made by RA and had a 1 in 10" twist. A Trijicon ACOG 4x Optic was used. The groups were shot back to back in less than 15 minutes total.
