XCR™-L Caliber Conversion Kit Specs.
 

The XCR™ Modular Rifle System is the perfect system for caliber conversion.  Unlike the M-16 which was designed primarily for the 5.56 NATO caliber, the  XCR™was designed with many other cartridges in mind.  The XCR's large bolt and excellent geometry allows the smooth, reliable cycling in today's favorite calibers.

Finally, the 7.62x39mm high capacity magazines are working very well and the XCR Rifles and conversion kits will begin shipping in May, 2008.  We need to finish some testing of the 6.5 and it should begin shipping in May 2008 also.

Kits to convert from one caliber to another run around $549.99.  Each kit contains the following parts:

Barrel - Complete with Gas Block and 5 Setting Quick Adjust Gas System
Bolt - Complete with extractor and firing pin
Magazine - High Capacity Magazine
Brass Deflector - Directs brass away from operator.

Conversion takes less than five minutes.

*Note:  We will be using a M16 Type magazine which fits into the XCR receiver and holds the AK47 ammunition.  Though AK47 magazines are plentiful, they are more difficult to insert and remove under pressure.  This combined with the fact that they do not have a provision for catching the bolt when the magazine is empty, makes the AK47 magazine a poor choice for a modern rifle.
